COS and the Environment
The COS Group believe that concern for the environment should be a fundamental part of its business. The company strives to attain a satisfactory balance between economic, social and environmental responsibilities, and aim to commit adequate resources to achieve environmental improvements.
COS encourage our employees to use recycled products wherever possible. We have provided each department with recycling bins for internal paper waste and there is also a central collection point for used cartridges/toners and batteries. These are all sent away for recycling.
We re-use as much cardboard as we are able for deliveries. We hope you understand when your COS delivery arrives in a re-used box. Where we cannot re-use, our cardboard is collected for recycling along with all paper and polythene. To minimise the environmental impact we have invested in a baler to compact this waste and reduce collections.
We are also able to offer our customers the ability to receive invoices and statements electronically, thereby reducing paper usage.
Inkjets and Toners
we encourage our customers to recycle inkjet and laser toner cartridges. We will happily supply a collection bin to our clients to ensure the efficient collection and return of these items for re-manufacture and re-use. Batteries
COS now offer a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries under the Waste Battery Regulations, and can provide a battery bin, free of charge, for this purpose. Products
environmentally friendly products such as recycled paper and card-based products are available and samples can be provided on request. Much of the best value initiative range is made of recycled material. We also provide a range of Fairtrade items, e.g. tea, coffee, etc. COS are happy to help our customers make informative purchasing decisions so that the products selected are sustainable and have the lowest possible impact on the environment. We will be happy to assess your basket of products to measure its sustainability and make suggested changes to meet your sustainability targets.
Efficient Trading
we have invested heavily in computer systems and seek to encourage our suppliers and clients to minimise their impact by trading electronically with COS.

Health & Safety Policy
COS take the health and safety of our colleagues and our customers very seriously. We recognise that Health and Safety analysis and advice is so serious as to warrant the attention of a qualified expert and engage the services of external advisors to the COS Group.

COS are fully ISO9001:2008 certified. COS achieved full BS5750 accreditation in 1992 and has held ISO9001:2000 since its inception. Our Quality system is audited annually by QRS Ltd to ensure that we meet the requirements of the Standard.
