Major Music has been given over £2,500 worth of equipment from Roland UK as part of a rolling agreement, which will give the Llantwit Major-based charity access to the latest state-of-the-art equipment.

Treasurer of Major Music and Managing Director of COS Group, James Emery said: “We would like to thank Roland UK for their generosity and ongoing support. As a charitable organisation without donations and help from companies like Roland UK we would struggle to continue running.”

Established in 2000, Major Music offers young people musical opportunities in Llantwit Major, Cowbridge and the rest of the Vale of Glamorgan. The charity provides young people with access to a state of the art recording studio and musical instruments which have previously been donated by Roland UK, in addition to providing musical tutors, vocal coaches and mentors. Major Music also host a number live events throughout the year, offering talented young musicians the chance to showcase their work.

Continued James: “We are thrilled to be celebrating our tenth anniversary, we have come a long way since launching the charity over a decade ago and Roland UK has been instrumental in supporting us. The relationship we have established has enabled us to provide young people with some of the best equipment around to help develop their musical talent to its full potential.”

On donating the new equipment Tim Walter, managing director of Roland UK said: “Having worked closely with Major Music over the last decade, we are delighted to have been able to donate new equipment to the charity. Major Music plays an important role in the lives of many young people in the Vale of Glamorgan and helps to nurture the talent of many young aspiring musicians. Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, shows in itself the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm from volunteers and mentors which has made the charity the success that it is today.”
