The 2008 Office Olympics, which takes place on the 13th August in Jenner Park, Barry, is an office-themed version of the multi-sport event, which will raise money for international humanitarian organisation, Right to Play.

Organisers Barry-based COS – the Complete Office Solution – have designed a series of unique events for participants to take part in as they battle it out to become Office Olympians. Games on the day include mouse mat discus, waste bin long jump, operator chair sprint and jumbo pencil javelin.

Managing Director of COS, James Emery, says: “Our Office Olympics promises to be a great team building event and a fun way of raising money for a really worthwhile cause. We are looking for 12 local businesses to take part in this charity event and would encourage those interested to get in touch quickly.”

Businesses already confirmed on the day are Natural Power Wales, freshbaked Group, Thomas Carroll and Melin Homes. Each business taking part must enter a team of four competitors and donate £100 to Right to Play, a charity that uses specially-designed sport and play programmes to improve health, build life skills and foster peace for children and communities affected by war, poverty and disease. Right to Play will be at the Beijing Olympics this year in the Athletes’ Village gaining support for the charity from athletes taking part in the Games.
