The business interiors division of Barry-based COS – the Complete Office Solution – has overhauled the offices of RCN Direct in Cardiff Gate Business Park after being chosen earlier this year by the Royal College of Nursing as its preferred contractor for building works across the UK.
Having already completed projects in Bolton and Newbury, COS is helping to modernise and streamline all of the regional offices of the UK’s largest professional nursing union by providing installation and refurbishment works over the course of the next two years. The company won the contract following a competitive tender against a number of UK contractors. COS impressed the panel with their wealth of experience, green credentials, as well as quality of the service it provides.
RCN Head of Estates, Chris Mill, said: “Many of the organisations’ regional offices need to be updated. This refurbishment programme will improve the efficiency of our working environment, benefitting both our staff and our 400,000 members.”
Added Richard Workman, Estates Project Manager for RCN UK: “COS has made a great start with this ambitious project and have completed jobs in a timely, efficient and professional manner. They have really grasped the design concept we want to get across in each of the regional offices and have been able to come up with ways that this signature concept can be rolled out in slightly different buildings across the UK. We look forward to continuing our working relationship going forward.”
COS has, within its Business Interiors Division, more than 30 years experience in providing a range of office design services including fit-outs, refurbishments, space design and project management.
Alan Davies, Director of Business Interiors at COS, said: “To win a major contract to represent as prestigious a body as the Royal College of Nursing is a big coup for COS. We have a well established history of supplying services across Wales and we are delighted to further expand our offering across the rest of the UK. We’re working closely with the RCN on this extensive programme of modernisation to make the best possible use of space. The projects we have completed to date have been very successful and we look forward to providing more modern and efficient solutions to satisfy the long term needs of the Royal College of Nursing as they continue to thrive as the voice of nursing in the UK.”
